Terms and conditions

Registration

  • Our students can book a course at Living Your Spanish School (LYS) by paying half of the total amount a month in advance and the rest on their first day at school. All our courses are pay in advance.
  • The courses can be weekly or monthly, starting every Monday all year round. Once the students book the course a tailor-made programme is created for them to attend.
  • The deposit can be made though the payments methods informed below. A copy of the bank deposit must be sent to confirm the booking.
  • Last minute bookings and changes: we reserve the right to accept last minute bookings and apply any additional charges.

Course Conditions

  • The cost of the courses includes first day placement test, textbooks and material, the corresponding class hours of the chosen course, snacks and drinks during lessons and end of course certificate. The participant must also include the cost of other services that may be requested (visa, insurance, accommodation, transfer service, etc).
  • The average number of students per group classes is 4-6 and the maximum number is 12.
  • If there is only one student at a level, he/she will take individual classes at the price of one-to-one lessons.
  • LYS shall determine the classes schedule depending on availability.
  • When the students have to travel or miss their lessons, they should warn their teacher two business days in advance and agree to make up for these lessons. Also, when the students miss a class they should phone the teacher to make further arrangements, otherwise this lesson will be missed.
  • In any situation where the student(s) do not show up for their scheduled class and they are the only student(s) in the class, LYS reserves the right to release the teacher after 15 minutes of waiting unless notification of late arrival has been made in advance. Once the teacher has been released, the class is automatically canceled, no rescheduling of class will be made, and no refunds will be given.
  • All the students have to bring their books or booklets and do their homework everyday.
  • LYS closes on public holidays. The missed hours will be compensated based on the teacher's and the students' availability. Individual classes will be rescheduled based on LYS’s availability.
  • These conditions apply to the online courses.

Prices

  • The prices of our programs are published in our web page and replace any other previous version.
  • Prices on any 3rd party websites, printed flyers, brochures, advertisements, or other materials are for indication only.
  • Prices are subject to change at any time without notice.
  • If prices change and only partial payment has been received for a booking, it is at the sole discretion of LYS to decide whether or not to honor the price from the time of booking upon completion of the full payment.
  • Discounts that are offered directly by LYS cannot be combined with any other discounts offered by third parties, unless stated otherwise. The long term discount is per person and it only applies when multiple consecutive weeks are booked and paid for at the same time. Any additional weeks will be calculated as a new transaction and a new booking.

Payment

  • In order to confirm a reservation, the payment of half the total amount is required.
  • The payment can be made through a SEPA bank deposit, a SWIFT international wire transfer or using Moneygram or Western Union. Please remember to clearly indicate the name of the beneficiary, personal information and the purpose of the payment.

Cancellations

  • They are applicable to Spanish courses, accommodation and tranfer services. The bank charges will be incurred by the student.
  • Cancellation fees are as follows:
    • 2 weeks before the course starts, no charges;
    • Less than 2 weeks, 30% of the program;
    • After the course has started, no refunds provided.
  • Cancellations are valid only when they are made by letter, by fax or by email to the following address: Our email address
  • LYS will not review its cancellation policies in any situation, even if cancellations are due to personal emergencies, illnesses, or accidents.
  • LYS reserves the right to modify or cancel its program and services arrangements if unforeseen circumstances arise. If LYS cancels or significantly changes the elements of a booked program due to force majeure, on or before the start date of such program, LYS will inform the student as soon as possible and will put forth its utmost effort to arrange alternatives that are of equal value. If force majeure occurs while the program is in progress, LYS will try to make reasonable alternative arrangements.

Travel Documents and Insurance

  • The student is fully responsible for having all necessary valid travel documents, travel insurance, and medical insurance before starting the course. Any non-compliance and any resulting damages are the sole responsibility of the student.

Accommodation

  • LYS accommodations have been carefully selected by members of our staff in order to guarantee not only the infrastructure but also the services offered.
  • In case of bookings made two weeks before the course starts, LYS will not guarantee availability of the accommodation requested by the student since LYS gives priority to bookings made in advance. Moreover, LYS may change the price in order to provide an adequate accommodation for the student.
  • The minimum for an accommodation booking is one week (7 nights). Any extra nights that are less than the one-week unit will be calculated separately. There is no refund if the student checks out early or spends less time in the accommodation than was paid for during their stay. This includes any trips taken during the stay.
  • If students are not pleased with the assigned accommodation, they may request to change it. LYS will make every effort to look for another accommodation of the same type and characteristics
  • LYS reserves the right to relocate or terminate a student’s accommodation arrangement without a refund if the student violates the Code of Conduct or the host’s house rules, creates disruptions to the host’s living environment, and/or if a substantial amount of reasonable complaints are made from the host. The abuse of alcohol, the use of illegal drugs, or the presence of overnight guests without permission of the host are not allowed and will result in immediate termination of accommodation without a refund.
  • The student must always inform LYS about the arrival time and date via e-mail or telephone at least 48 hs in advance. If the requested information is not provided, LYS can not guarantee that someone will be waiting at the accommodation for the student upon arrival.
  • The accommodation will be charged from 10 am on the first day requested. The check-in to the assigned accommodation must be made from 10 am to 12 am or 6 pm to 8 pm on Sunday and students must leave the accommodation until 10 am on Saturday. If the check-in and check-out times are not fulfilled, LYS will charge the corresponding additional days.
  • If students do not arrive within the stipulated times, LYS does not guarantee that someone will be waiting for them.

Transfer Service

  • Flight details (date, time, airline, and flight number) must be confirmed one week before arrival, otherwise LYS will not guarantee the transfer service and there will be no refunds for this service.
  • If any changes as regards flight details are not duly informed, LYS will not take responsibility for the proper provision of the service.
  • If students arrive at a different time from the one already informed to LYS due to delays, flight changes, etc. LYS will provide the transfer service but will reserve the right to apply any additional changes if necessary.
